About Tracy

Tracy Coleman is an experienced athletic trainer who has most recently served the student-athletes of Harts Bluff and Chapel Hill ISDs, providing comprehensive athletic training coverage across both school communities. His experiences in Mount Pleasant have only deepened his love for the profession and reaffirmed his commitment to raising the standard of healthcare for athletes in East Texas.

In addition to his work locally, Tracy continues to serve as the primary medical liaison for MLS NEXT, Major League Soccer’s elite youth development platform. In this role, he oversees medical staffing, logistics, risk mitigation, and on-site healthcare for all MLS NEXT marquee events, including the Generation Adidas Cup, MLS NEXT Flex, MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs & Showcase, and MLS NEXT Fest.

Tracy began his professional career as a graduate assistant with FC Dallas (Major League Soccer), later taking over as Head Athletic Trainer for the club’s Development Academy. While there, Tracy focused on modernizing and growing the Development Academy sports medicine department while improving both the quality of and access to care provided to his athletes. During his time with the academy, he had the privilege of working with teams that went on to win four development academy national championships. In 2016, Tracy was promoted to Assistant Athletic Trainer for the FC Dallas first team and was part of the squad that won both the U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters' Shield.

Prior to the 2019 MLS season, Tracy was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer & Rehab Coordinator for FC Dallas, where he applied his expertise in clinical evaluation, emergency care, and rehabilitation to support elite athletes at the highest level of competition. Along the way, he earned NASM certifications in Corrective Exercise (CES) and Performance Enhancement (PES) to further elevate his rehab approach.

In 2021, Tracy transitioned to a league-wide role as Manager of Medical Operations for Major League Soccer. He served as a key liaison between club medical staffs and the MLS medical department and provided oversight for research projects and league protocols focused on reducing time lost due to injury.

Tracy holds a B.S. in Athletic Training from Merrimack College and an M.S. in Health & Human Performance from Northwestern State University. Tracy’s extensive experience in professional sports shapes the way he cares for athletes in East Texas, where he remains focused on delivering the highest standard of care at the community level.

Tracy lives in Mount Pleasant, TX, with his wife, Dr. Theresa Coleman, and their three dogs—Shiner, Boh, and Stella.
